Greta Thunberg Wants You To Panic

From Jo Nova:

So now Greta Thunberg becomes a saint? What’s going on here?

Greta Thunberg was born on 3 January 2003 in Sweden. Her mother, Malena Ernman, is a Swedish opera singer, her father is actor Svante Thunberg, and her grandfather is actor and director Olof Thunberg.

Thunberg says she first heard about climate change in 2011, when she was 8 years old, and could not understand why so little was being done about it. Three years later she became depressed and lethargic, stopped talking and eating, and was eventually diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), and selective mutism. While acknowledging that her diagnosis “has limited me before”, she does not view her autism as an illness and has instead called it her “superpower”.

For about two years, Thunberg challenged her parents to lower the family’s carbon footprint by becoming vegan and giving up flying, which in part meant her mother had to give up her international career as an opera singer.

She’s a casualty. She’s a kid who’s been scared out of her wits by her teachers and the mass media. And has also been manipulated by climate activists:

…she was contacted by Bo Thorén from Fossil Free Dalsland, a group interested in doing something about climate change. Thunberg attended a few of their meetings, and at one of them, Thoren also suggested that school children could strike for climate change. Thunberg tried to persuade other young people to get involved but “no one was really interested” so eventually, she decided to go ahead with the strike by herself.

So it seems her Stockholm school chums didn’t share her concerns. She’s on her own.

Perhaps the fact that she comes from a show business family has something to do with it. She’s become a child star – a modern Shirley Temple – with their considerable assistance, it would seem. She’s now far more famous than any of them, and far more in demand. She’s probably become a goldmine. And she’ll remain a goldmine as long as she can remain in the public eye.

And what better way to do that than sail across the Atlantic?

Greta Thunberg arrived in New York on Wednesday, stepping on to dry land after crossing the Atlantic in a sailboat with a passionate message to tackle global heating.

Crowds had gathered to welcome her for hours beforehand, ready to welcome Thunberg’s arrival on the yacht which is designed to achieve zero-carbon status: propelled by wind, it uses solar panels and water-driven generators for its electricity…

She was offered a ride on the Malizia II racing yacht skippered by Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, and the German round-the-world sailor Boris Herrmann.

And she did it in just 2 weeks. It used to take a lot longer:

Journey to America. In the early 19th century sailing ships took about six weeks to cross the Atlantic. With adverse winds or bad weather the journey could take as long as fourteen weeks. When this happened passengers would often run short of provisions.

What was Greta eating while on this racing yacht?

…the boat has no kitchen, toilet, or shower

During the trip, Thunberg and Boris Herrmann communicated with the world outside using social media.

Somehow or other, I suspect Greta didn’t really sail across the Atlantic. It was a far too dangerous thing to do. And she had become too valuable. What if she’d been swept overboard? Or taken ill? Or shipwrecked?

The whole thing was probably just show business. She probably no more really sailed across the Atlantic than Humphrey Bogart really sailed to Casablanca. She got on the boat in Plymouth on 14 August, and got off in New York on 28 August, and in between who knows where she was.

What’s she going to do next to stay in the public eye? Spectator:

Questions will also be raised as to why Thunberg needs to be at these conferences in person. The internet has done as much to break down our sense of borders as commercial flights did before it. Thunberg doesn’t need to attend conferences to disseminate her views to the world; she can simply upload a video to YouTube from her own living room. But for many climate change activists, it is the appeal of being seen to do good, and to mingle with others of a similar mindset that drives their attendance at these events.

And what’s her message to the world?

“Adults keep saying we owe it to the young people to give them hope. But I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful; I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I feel every day. And then I want you to act, I want you to act as you would in a crisis. I want you to act as if the house was on fire, because it is.” (my added emphasis)

She’s a casualty, and she’s being used by unscrupulous people to create a lot more casualties.

The house isn’t on fire. It’s not a real fire. It’s a show business fire, a completely imaginary fire.

Is she though, or is she a victim? I agree with Frank; I think she is a casualty. Brainwashed and exploited by her showbiz parents, most likely to enhance their name recognition for their own financial/personal gain.

If Greta Thunberg truly has Asperger’s Syndrome, she could be easily manipulated, because children who are “on the spectrum” tend to obsess and focus on specific, narrow subjects. Her parents simply had to direct her obsessions toward “Climate Change” for a few years and voila! Then they most likely used their industry connections to procure media coverage and an unwitting Progressive star (saint?) was born. [The fact that some people are now depicting her as a saint really underscores the “Climate Change” movement being, like Christianity, a faith-based religion]

The majority of child stars seem to have serious psychological issues when they grow up, due to all the abuses (verbal, physical, sexual, etc.) they suffer at the hands of their predatory handlers (in most cases, their parents, who are greedy and/or live vicariously through them). I think Greta Thunberg is most likely being used as a pawn in a political game, and I feel a bit sorry for her. She will never be able to lead a normal life, and I foresee a troubled and tragic road ahead for her.

There was a bunch of climate change protesters camped outside work yesterday. None were children; all adults and noisy fuckers to boot. They were organised by the CWU (Communication Workers Union) and I had to walk through them when I went out for a smoke at lunchtime.

Funnily enough there was a fire had broken out on the other side of the building. I watched it burning all afternoon from my vantage point of the 13th floor…

Reminded me of a Song ;)

AJ+ = Al Jazeera (funded by Qatar), so an oil producing state is throwing £££ at climate panic?! Personally I think that little authoritarian state just wants panic in the West.

But the New Scientist (yeah, it got ‘old’) are now taking the climate panic route. And btw, Brexit bad, why people (meaning us) will like climate taxes. Probably ‘smoking bad’ too, but I couldn’t torture my brain with anymore of their bs.

Ms Thunberg is a victim of unscrupulous exploitation by the same kind of “sky is falling” Chicken Little cultists behind tobacco prohibitionist policies. The school strikes contribute to ignorance and only offer meaningless sloganeering. Reminds me of the old aphorism “Teenagers: get a job and pay your own way while you still know everything”. 😬

I heard rumours Thurnburg is not so well. I predict she’ll crash and burn, and her handlers should get criminal charges for child abuse…..Nice post by the way…..

Notice how St.Greta has gone to the great city of New York; but, not to such not nice places as No.Korea or China or India or Africa or South America.
Why not go to Iran or to where the Amazon forests are being burned?

Guess that there is no fun in not being able to go first class.

  7. Sackerson says:

‘Well, Joe,’ said the trembling old lady. ‘I’m sure I have been a good mistress to you, Joe. You have invariably been treated very kindly. You have never had too much to do; and you have always had enough to eat.’
This last was an appeal to the fat boy’s most sensitive feelings. He seemed touched, as he replied emphatically — ‘I knows I has.’
‘Then what can you want to do now?’ said the old lady, gaining courage.
‘I wants to make your flesh creep,’ replied the boy.

It’s obvious. St Greta of Thunburg, like many European teenage girl saints in the 11-14th Centuries, simply does not need a kitchen, toilet or shower. Obviously too the goddess of the West Wind blew her magic vessel across the sea through a couple of eastbound ex-hurricanes, in record time, to bring the Saving Word of Gaia and Pope Francis to the savages of the New World. May Thor protect our sacred coastlines and temperate zones, Holy Babylon New York, which will all be destroyed in about eleven years, if we all don’t DO something.
Or maybe she left from Plymouth, Massachusetts. That’s what I thought at first. I wonder if the mean old President of the United Carbon Footprints will grant her audience.

She crapped in a bucket. I believe its contents ere not dumped overboard (pollution!) but may have been saved, dried and sold as relics. (the bucket part is true). Meanwhile, an edifying article about her crazy family:

She’s a casualty. She’s a kid who’s been scared out of her wits by her teachers and the mass media. And has also been manipulated by climate activists:
Climate activists can’t sink any lower even if they tried. They should be sentenced to life in prison for the worst case of child abuse.
As Joe L. above points out:
If Greta Thunberg truly has Asperger’s Syndrome, she could be easily manipulated, because children who are “on the spectrum” tend to obsess and focus on specific, narrow subjects.
Little Greta could be even more easily manipulated than all the other manipulated children currently engaging in climate change activities.

For about two years, Thunberg challenged her parents to lower the family’s carbon footprint by becoming vegan and giving up flying, which in part meant her mother had to give up her international career as an opera singer.
Seriously? Who is in charge in that family? It is supposed to be the adults, who in turn are supposed to provide a decent childhood for their offspring!
Little Greta can (and should be) grateful that at least her father earned the family’s living. Otherwise the family would have had to move into a less desirable area of a tiny, damp flats in a high rise block. Would little Greta love that?
I bet all little Gretas have never thought about that because their brains have not yet reached full maturity with the added quirk of hormones beginning to rage through their bodies.

And what’s her message to the world?

“Adults keep saying we owe it to the young people to give them hope. But I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful; I want you to panic.
It is not arrogant, climate change activist manipulated little Greta’s place to induce mass panic that is very likely to lead to violence. She (and her parents) don’t seem to understand that being the person on show also means they have to bear the brunt when all goes pear-shaped.

    Sad.
