Distorted Visions

I am so tired of people who think they know what’s good for everyone.

Pope Francis told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that the United States of America has “a distorted vision of the world” and Americans must be ruled by a world government, as soon as possible, “for their own good.”

The Pope made the observation in an interview with La Repubblica reporter Eugenio Scalfari.

Last Thursday, I got a call from Pope Francis,” Scalfari reported. “It was about noon, and I was at the newspaper when my phone rang.”

He said Pope Francis had been watching Putin and Trump at the G20 and had become agitated. The Pope demanded to see him at four that afternoon, according to a Google translation of the Italian report.

Pope Francis told me to be very concerned about the meeting of the G20,” Scalfari wrote.

As translated into English by Agence France Presse, which picked up the story, the Pope said “I am afraid there are very dangerous alliances between powers who have a distorted view of the world: America and Russia, China and North Korea, Russia and Assad in the war in Syria.”

The danger concerns immigration,” the Pope continued to La Repubblica. “Our main and unfortunately growing problem in the world today is that of the poor, the weak, the excluded, which includes migrants.

This is why the G20 worries me: It mainly hits immigrants,” Pope Francis said, according to AFP.

Pope Francis’s idea that Americans would be better off under a world government doesn’t stop there. The radical leftist pontiff also went on record stating that Europe should become one country under one government.

Who’s he to say who that other people have “a distorted view of the world”? It seems more likely to me that it’s popes like him, living in the Vatican, surrounded by flunkies, who have distorted views of the world.

I seem to remember that the last pope was deposed. Perhaps it’s about time this latest one was deposed as well.

Tobacco Control is another bunch of people who think they know what’s good for everybody. But I think they have a distorted view of the world.

And these days, “the poor, the weak, and the excluded” includes smokers. They’re weak because they have no voice, and nobody speaks for them. They’re excluded because they’re banned from almost everywhere. And they’re poor because they’re subjected to draconian taxation.

If Pope Francis is so concerned about a world government I do wonder if he took stock of the Vatican state and it’s financial situation and how much he could help the world’s poor. Surely the Vatican state would become part of this “world government”?

Surely the Vatican State could help out here!!!

This isn’t going to happen. At least another 300 years have to pass. And we will never hear anything from/about Pope Benedict again, either. That was the deal. He was shoved off to somewhere and – if still alive – is treated like he is dead.

And they won’t survive. If they hadn’t been so impatient and stuck to only advising people about their (so much wished for) smoking-“damage” rather than forcing laws complying with THEIR ideology, they’d have been successful. Their impatience is breaking their necks because we, the baby-boomers are still alive and kicking. And the youngsters see a lot of us, the living proof, all and every day.

The lifestyle control movement is trying to create a one size fits all situation in order to exert totalitarian control. One tool at their disposal is suppressing dissent. Now very few media outlets allow comments on antismoking and lifestyle control topics and this that do increasingly delete dissension opinions as spam (while leaving up abusive and hateful antismoker comments).

A good recent example is at the Halfwheel ( https://halfwheel.com ) a cigar aficionado site that seems to have attracted an antismoker following that recently have been attacking pro-choice comments and I suspect tagging them as spam and subsequent removal.

The Pope condemns pedophile priests but continues to shuffle them among parishes.

I looked at your link, read, and even loaded several pages of comments (a sideshow of fervent believers and disbelievers arguing fine points of dogma and slinging quotations at each other!) – before realising (well, in the first page) that it was just over a year old.

A weird site, that seems to scrape ‘news’ from all over the place.

Still, on your topic, this from only a few days ago … even more WTF?!
