Ageing

I spent all evening in the Smoky Drinky Bar last night, slowly drinking most of a bottle of Chardonnay, on what was my 70th birthday.

As a result, today I feel like I’m about 80.

Nothing worse than wine gone off!

We’re never too old to be childish. Here’s to your 81st.

It was a nice 70th birthday do at the SD bar and, apart from 1 brandy, I was on Shandy all night.
    I feel like 40 today…..
Age is a figment of imagination. I imagine I’m in my late 20s, but going to bed after midnight during the week was a lot easier then to cope with the following day. Gym is cancelled today..
Still, wouldn’t have missed Frank’s Birthday!

    Dear Frank,

Sincere congratulations, from me and the dwindling remnants of anti hard coercive paternalists here in Ostraya, the 2nd colonial jewel of the Commonwealth (after NZ, as their PM is stunningly toothy).

Achieving ‘three score and ten’ in the ‘old language’ is a major milestone. Your wide ranging fascinating amusingly curmudgeonly website is on my daily reading list, as an intellectual challenge to complacent acceptance.

Now you are venerable, I hope you have many dutiful descendants nearby to cook, clean, garden and mind your politically incorrect ‘tude.

We wish you very many more years of regular banging on about bans…♩

Drink plenty of water… nice if there’s a squeeze of lemon in it too.
Hey, add a bit of ‘addictive’ sugar and you’ve got lemonade!
See if there are any vitamins in the house. Eat a peach ;-)

Rest up, maybe go for a walk afterward. You’ll recover … ;=})
It was nice to enjoy your and others company last night, er, earlier this morning. Thanks!!

I’ve just spent an hour cleaning up after cooking dinner for my house guest, also present then, himself long in bed already, and am about to retire separately myself…

I hope we’ll all feel better in a few hours, or by tomorrow!

Welll, you did wake this morn.

At our age that is not a given.

It behooves us to treat each day as possibly our last.

As for feeling bad after drinking a bottle of wine, practice makes perfect.
I drink a bottle of red wine each afternoon thru evening and feel fine every morn.

  7. Emily says:

There were some good jokes told last night in Smoky Drinky Bar. Of course I forget them all now!

  8. Damn! I meant to call in last night – I forgot. The advantage of feeling 80 today, is that tomorrow you’ll feel like 60 again.

  9. waltc says:

Day late, buck short, but happy 71st year. I tend to agree that dying before 70 is kind of crapping out; well… either that or quitting while you’re ahead. But realize, as a smoker, if you die at 92, it’ll still be “premature” and caused by your smoking.

  10. Janet Huxley says:

Happy Buffday Frank!!!!!!!!!! And you don’t look at DAY over 80!! ha
