EU Roundup

EU news on Dutch referendum:

VICTORY! Dutch people power CRUSHES expansionist Brussels…and Brexit ‘will be NEXT’

THE DUTCH people have tonight delivered a devastating blow to the whole European Union project and handed a huge boost to Brexit campaigners by sinking a Brussels plot to expand further into Eastern Europe.

Except that the EU is just going to ignore the Dutch people, of course:

‘Your vote means NOTHING’ Brussels insists land grab plot WILL go ahead despite Dutch ‘no’

Arrogant Brussels politicians insisted the plot to bring Kiev further into their sphere of influence will go ahead, even though it was last night overwhelmingly rejected by the Dutch people.

Germany’s Angela Merkel told journalists the Dutch ‘no’ vote will be “managed as we have managed other difficult issues before”, whilst French president Francois Hollande said the EU will “implement and apply” the rejected treaty.

And EU President Jean-Claude Juncker today expressly REFUSED to rule out steamrollering the Dutch people’s democratic rights and enforcing the deal on them anyway.

I came across some EU talking head, saying:

“Diversity is humanity’s destiny. There is not going to be, even in the remotest places of this planet, a nation that will not see diversity in its future. That’s where humanity is heading. And those politicians trying to sell to their electorates a society that is exclusively composed of people from one culture are trying to portray a future based on a past that never existed. Therefore that future will never be.”

First point: What makes these people think they can see the future? I don’t think anybody ever knows what the future will bring. In fact, pretty much what defines the future is our complete ignorance of it. I have no idea what humanity’s “destiny” is. Nor do I believe that there is any fixed “destiny” for which we’re destined, like the terminus at the end of some railway line.

Second point: I take it that “diversity” won’t include smoking any tobacco. So what the heck does “diversity” mean?

And it seems the EU is planning on punishing Britain even if it votes to remain in it:

Last Friday I received an email from a long-standing Belgian contact containing the following extract:

You might be interested to learn that there is some debate already here about the best punishment for the UK once it has decided to stay in the EU.

The ‘here’ referred to is Brussels, just in case you were wondering.

In other news:

Flu jab given to millions is ‘useless’

No surprise there then. Elsewhere, more bans:

New York City bans chewing of tobacco at Major League ballparks and other venues

De Blasio said “We don’t want our young people to think smokeless tobacco is a cool thing.” All sport venues and recreational areas are affected in the said law. He added “We are taking a huge step forward to ensure that our youth are not exposed to dangerous practices.”

The ban also includes the usage of e-cigarettes inside the ballparks as written in CNN.

No “health” risk to anyone. It’s just that “we” don’t want people chewing tobacco. “We” might not want people doing any number of other things as well, including watching baseball. And what “we” want is the only thing that matters.

And I hope Britain’s jailbirds have the spirit of Ozzie ones.

Metropolitan Remand Centre staff still off work after smoking ban riots

DOZENS of prison staff traumatised by prisoners during Victoria’s smoking ban riots have not returned to work more than 10 months after the rampage.

Prison guard union figures reveal 30 Metropolitan Remand Centre workers are battling stress, anxiety and depression and have been unable to work following the 14-hour siege in June last year.

With luck, the Dutch vote, and the EU ignoring it, will provide a major incentive for British people to vote to leave. Nigel Farage popped over to Amsterdam to assist the Dutch before the vote and gave a great speech:

His part starts at 45 minutes in. At 49:00 he describes his first act (back in 2010) after managing to scramble free of the crashed aircraft, while covered in aviation fuel. And at 1:18:00 on, he talks about smoking cigars with President Sarkozy after, and in defiance of the smoking ban.

I totally agree with Frank and Tony. Timmermans is a truly disgusting bully. How can he say that Europe is a plaice of ‘peace and freedom’. it is no such thing. I must say I fear for the future with such dictators in power, We should not have joined the EU. I was always against it.

  2. Tony says:

“What makes these people think they can see the future?”
Lots of people have thought that in the past. I’m not making a direct comparison but the most recent ones even had a little song about it. It had a chorus of “Tomorrow belongs…”.

On an entirely different note, I thought this news story might be interesting:

I used to take my family to watch Major League Baseball at Pittsburgh, PA. They banned smoking in the stands about 12 years ago. There were designated smoking areas around the park. In 2007 the Pirates baseball stadium instituted a total property ban. No smoking anywhere on the grounds. That was my last visit. Never again. In fact, I have given up attending any live sporting event. More social dislocation because of these tyrannical bullies.

They can see the future because they’re creating it. If they put a pair of unneuteted cats, unneuteted rabbits and unneutered racoons in your basement, they could predict with some certainty that your basement, in the future, would be teeming with diversity.

As for the chaw ban in stadiums, it’s interesting how the constitution (fredom of expression) can be violated with impunity as long as it’s For The Children™ and the excuse is politically correct.

Agree; especially when “HPV, Not Tobacco, is Major Cause of Oral Cancers”

      • harleyrider1978 says:

The latest study on HPV and lung cancer:
Correlation between squamous cell carcinoma of the lung and human papillomavirus infection and the relationship to expression of p53 and p16. X Fan, K Yu, J Wu, J Shao, L Zhu, J Zhang. Tumour Biol. 2014 Dec 28 [Epub ahead of print]. 128 adenocarcinomas and 134 squamous cell carcinomas in Shanghai. “The rate of HPV infection in SQC cases was significantly higher than in ADC cases (12.69 versus 3.91 %). Females with SQC had a significantly higher rate of HPV infection compared to males with SQC (18.75 versus 7.14 %, p?=?0.044). HPV infection was correlated with gender and age in SQC but not with the degree of tumor differentiation, TNM stage, or smoking.”

And don’t turn up your nose just because it’s not 100% of lung cancer caused by HPV. Remember the supposed smoking-related mechanism the anti-smokers peddle (benzo(a)pyrene diol epoxide-DNA adducts at hot spot codons at p53 in lung cells) could only pertain to about 7% or less of lung cancers.

7 % or less would explain why so few smokers get LC to start with! LC is a very rare disease even in smokers where 2% or less of life long smokers ever get LC..

      Hitler’s Anti-Tobacco Campaign

One particularly vile individual, Karl Astel — upstanding president of Jena University, poisonous anti-Semite, euthanasia fanatic, SS officer, war criminal and tobacco-free Germany enthusiast — liked to walk up to smokers and tear cigarettes from their unsuspecting mouths. (He committed suicide when the war ended, more through disappointment than fear of hanging.) It comes as little surprise to discover that the phrase “passive smoking” (Passivrauchen) was coined not by contemporary American admen, but by Fritz Lickint, the author of the magisterial 1100-page Tabak und Organismus (“Tobacco and the Organism”), which was produced in collaboration with the German AntiTobacco League.

That’s fine company are so called public health depts. keep with ehh!

History can shed so much lite on todays own movement it just amazes the mind………..

Hitler Youth had anti-smoking patrols all over Germany, outside movie houses and in entertainment areas, sports fields etc., and smoking was strictly forbidden to these millions of German youth growing up under Hitler.”

I hope he’ll be kind enough to tell the following:

Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. He’s chief honcho of Bhutan.

Kim Jong Un. Current boss of N. Korea.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Supposedly the spiritual leader of ISIS.

    Preferably face to face.
