Gaddafi Falls?

Libyan rebels seem to have captured Tripoli in a single day. This footage appeared on Al Jazeera tonight of rebels in Green Square in the centre of Tripoli.

Gaddafi’s son Saif is reported to have been captured. Gaddafi is still broadcasting on radio, but nobody knows from where. It rather look as if it’s almost all over for him.

I hope the country can now begin to get some peace.

  1. Junican says:

what would be wonderful would be the creation of a real democracy in Libya, Is there any possibility of such? We ourselves are experiencing the failings of ‘democracy’ if by that one means the rule of the majority. True democracy means that minorities can continue to live as they wish, provided that they do not harm others. The scandal of the anti-smoker laws is the use of pseudo science to inflict severe penalties upon those who disagree with the majority opinion. Such actions by Parliament are the antithesis of true democracy – they are totalitarian.
