Perro Fumando

I suspect that the following video is from a Spanish antismoking ad. But it seems to have become a pro-smoking ad.

“Perro fumando” is Spanish for “Why bother?”, or something, I think. And if I were Bennett, I’d want to finish my cigarette too.

Frank, where on earth do you find these things? That is so amusing that it is impossible to believe that it can have any serious intent. It must be an amateur bit of fun……..mustn’t it?

I found the first version of this on a Spanish smokers’ protest website – Prohibo Prohibir (forbidden to forbid) -. That one ended with a banner saying “Fumar Mata” (In Spanish that means “smoking doesn’t matter” or something).
But I found the modified version above on YouTube, minus The Message, and posted that instead.
Yes, I think it’s gloriously funny.

So overwhelmed am I by the depths to which the antis will sink I found myself seriously thinking that the police investigating Joanna Yeates’ murder had deliberately targeted a Dutchman called Tabak because how could he not be guilty of something terrible?
NB I have no idea if he is a bad man or not.

    Hi Frank,
today l met a friend called Dave unexpectedly at an auction. He’s had a bar in Spain for quite a number of years. l introduced him to the person l was with and commented about his bar in Spain.
Dave then said he no longer had it as he’d got out before the smoking ban. l asked why because l thought a lot of the Spanish were ignoring it. He said that they are but the officials were targeting bars run by Brits. His mate who also owns a bar had just got fined 1000 Euros because he was smoking in his own bar.
Brits are obviously seen as an easy touch … now, l wonder why that is?

It is a hilarious clip – If this is supposed to be an anti-smoking video it backfired – it tells me that smoking won’t make me fat……..
